SS Alloy 316L is a chromium-nickel molybdenum austenitic stainless steel that was created to improve corrosion resistance in moderately corrosive settings. In the annealed state, alloy 316/316L is non-magnetic, however, cold working or welding can cause it to become mildly magnetic. Standard shop fabrication procedures can easily weld and process it. In most applications, Alloy 316/316L outperforms. This grade will not corrode in process settings that do not corrode In phosphoric and acetic acid, alloy 316/316L is also resistant to pitting. In boiling 20 percent phosphoric acid, it functions admirably.
