SS 446 chemical composition and characteristics:
stainless steel SS 446 is a ferritic structure that is non-heat treatable. It comprises an Iron-based alloy with a higher chromium value. Stainless steel provides excellent thermal properties and strength. Alloying elements such as:
- Chromium returns excellent resistance in corrosive surroundings
- Manganese enhances thermal properties with toughness and hardenability.
- Silicon works as a ferrite stabilizing element with boosting oxidation resistance.
