After exposure to temperatures in the heat range, chromium carbide at 800 – 1500 °F (427-816 °C) has high resistance to inter-corrosion corrosion. The alloy has a high resistance to oxidation and has a creep strength of 1500 degrees Fahrenheit (816 degrees Celsius). It’s also problematic at low temperatures.
