Why is Inconel used?
Inconel contain chromium, nickel and molybdenum. Molybdenum content increased toughness and strength. It is non-magnetic and has resistance to corrosion with a service temperature ranging from cryogenic to high temperature. Inconel alloy shows resistance to non-oxidizing environments. Inconel alloy exhibit excellent corrosion resistance to salt and fresh water. It also shows resistance to an alkaline environment and air. This alloy shows resistance to both oxidizing and non-oxidizing environments and chloride stress corrosion cracking. This alloy shows good chloride stress corrosion cracking resistance. This alloy resists scale deposition and oxidation at high temperatures.
What are Inconel blind flanges?
A blind flange is a solid steel piece with no bore and is primarily designed to cap off a line. Since most flanged fittings allow air or fluid to pass through an internal opening, blinds provide the end of the tube fittings a well-formed termination point or a redirect of the medium in question to another part of the tube assembly.
