Advantages of Hastelloy:
Like other nickel alloys, it is ductile, easy to form and weld, and possesses exceptional resistance to stress corrosion cracking in solutions containing chlorides (a form of degeneration to which austenitic stainless steels are subjected). Due to its high content of chromium and molybdenum, it is able to resist oxidizing and non-oxidizing acids and shows exceptional resistance to chloride pitting and crevice corrosion. Our offered fittings are very resistant to sulfide stress cracking and corrosion in sour, oilfield environments.
What is BSP and NPT Fittings?
Hastelloy BSP and NPT is well known for their Good machinability, although the alloy work hardens, as is true of the nickel-base alloys in general. It can be cold worked with all conventional methods. Weldable by all standard forms, except that excessive heat input should be avoided. It can be used in the welded state without further heat treatment for most corrosive applications. The alloy can be forged or hot stamped by conventional means. It can be hot formed or extruded. Should be solution heat-treated following hot forming.
