What are the features of Hastelloy Lapped Joint Flanges?

Hastelloy Lap flanges are unique in that they consist of two pieces, the flange itself and the end of the socket. The back has a slight square cut shoulder in the centre or the tube hole. The front face has a flat face with a threaded centre hole to match the threaded rear face of the end cap. Here, the end of the stub will wrap tightly around the centre hole of the flange.

Benefits of Hastelloy Lapped Joint Flanges:

 Since a lapped joint flange has a two-piece configuration, it offers a way to reduce costs when piping systems demand it. For high-cost alloys, the only “wetted” part is the stub end. In this situation, it suffices that the stub end consists of the higher cost corrosion-resistant material, where the flange itself can be produced from lower-cost steel.

Ease of Work 

By using rotating joint flanges, work can be simplified in situations that require frequent and quick disassembly and assembly during plant operation. The ability to rotate the support flange compensates for the misalignment of the bolt holes during assembly.
