SMO 254 description:
Stainless Steel alloy SMO 254 is Nickel-Chromium-Molybdenum Alloy implemented for marine and chloride environs applications. It contains less amount of Carbon and Nitrogen with excellent resistance properties in various corrosive conditions. The design of the material with a highly alloyed austenitic structure improves the strength to double than 300 series of Stainless steel. Thus it is a better alternative to Titanium and High Nickel alloys. Thus they show qualities such as:
- Immune to Pitting and Crevice
- Impervious to Climate Oxidization
- Stronger to Stress Erosion Cracking
- Double Strength than Conventional Steels
