Eccentric Reducer:
An eccentric pipe reducer is installed with a straight side up so that the air trapping can be prevented at the pump station. Eccentric reducers are widely used with the flat side up in the pump inlet to prevent cavitation. They are also used to hold small and large pipes together to reduce vibration or noise at the same time.
Why are eccentric reducers used?
This reducers does not need a large installation space. Eccentric reducers are used on the suction side of the pumps to ensure that air does not collect in the pipe. The gradual build-up of air in a concentric reducer could cause a large bubble which could potentially cause the pump to stall or cause cavitation when it is sucked into the pump.
