What are Reducers?

A pipe reducer is the type of pipe fitting that is used for joining the two pipes of various diameters. The piping reducers are made available to the different users in ranges of materials that are based upon the product end-use and are produced in inch and metric size. It is provided in different specifications as per the demands of the buyers, like in nominal diameter, outside diameter, standards, and type, etc.

Types of Reducers:

• Concentric Reducer: Concentric reducers are used where the pipework is vertically installed and at the discharge side of pumps. The concentric reducer is connecting the piping is of unequal size but is having a common centerline. It is the kind of piping fitting with various size ends for joining the piping of various diameters that joins pipes sections on the same axis. 
• Eccentric reducer : The eccentric piping reducer fitting is developed with the small outlet off-center to the bigger end that permits it in aligning with the inlet side. The reducer is to be installed with the straight side so it can save trapping air at the pump suction. These reducers permit simple connection of various sized piping.
